Around 150 motorists were slapped with £30 fixed penalty notices for illegally using a busy Bradford bus lane this month.

And dozens of drivers have been warned off switching lanes in a bid to get to their destinations quicker following a £12,000 operation along Manningham Lane.

Up to 10 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) have been pulling over motorists since January 10 for illegally driving in the bus lane between the peak periods of 7.30am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6.30pm.

Only buses, cyclists and some taxis are able to use the lanes during these times.

The initiative has been undertaken by members of Bradford North Neighbourhood Policing Team after receiving funding from Metro.
