EMERGENCY services were attacked at the scene of a fire last night.
Firefighters were called to the fire at the Shera Grill House and Restaurant on Greaves Street, in the Little Horton, area at 10pm last night.
The Watch Commander at Odsal station said: "The initial crew was met with a well-developed fire on the first and second floor of the property.
"Firefighters dealt with the fire quickly and got it under control, but crews stayed for hours dampening down the scene.
"Bradford station supported Odsal with evacuating several properties."
An aerial appliance was used from Leeds station to ensure that the fire hadn't spread through the roof.
Firefighters and police in attendance at the scene were physically and verbally attacked by a group of youths, and some objects were thrown.
The fire service reported that police got this under control.
The Watch Commander said: "Attacks, physical and verbal will not be tolerated on emergency personnel.
"It is dangerous to be getting close to firefighters when they are performing their job.
"Use a level of common sense and stay back."
West Yorkshire Police and fire investigation teams are investigating the cause of the fire.
