BRADFORD has been ranked as the second most affordable city for women in the UK, according to a study.

The cost of living is rising by 7.4 per cent this month, with single women among those expected to be hit hardest by the increase.

The Body Shop analysed 30 UK cities to uncover the most affordable places for single women to live – and where the cost-of-living crisis could potentially have the least impact on women’s day-to-day living standards.

Bradford leaves women with an average of £868.24 after bills using 53.72 per cent of wages on the cost of living.

Despite a lower salary of £28,000, Bradford’s cost of living is significantly lower than the rest of the top 10 at £1,007.84.

Derby came out top leaving women with an average of £1,158.60 after bills.
