TV producers are searching for aspiring politicians from Bradford who think they have what it takes to be the UK's next prime minister.

'Elect Me', the working title for the new TV show, will bring together 12 members of the public who think they’d do a better job of running the country.

From those already campaigning for change to politicos with no experience, producers will pit potential candidates against one another and see who comes out on top.

The ideal applicant will be confident and opinionated, have great ideas and be able to take time off for a month of filming between June and July.

In an advert for the show, producers at Twofour said: "In a succession of challenges related to the big issues of the day, they'll face the pressures, challenges and accountability of being in government - all under the scrutiny of two political heavyweights who know what it takes to lead a country.

"By the end of the process, one of our nominees will show that they've got the talent and vision to have Britain's top job."

Applications for 'Elect Me' are open until May 13, 2022.

Applicants need to be 18 or over and legally eligible to live and work in the UK.

Twofour's advert reads: "If you've got great ideas and want your voice to be heard then we want to hear from you."
