IT'S ALL well and good the government promising £150 Council Tax rebates to homes in bands A to D, to help address rising energy costs, but getting your hands on it is another thing entirely.
I am among those people - and there are a lot of us - who do not pay by direct debit. I have called my local council three times to ask how to apply for the rebate but, incredibly, they don't know.
Each time I have been asked to call back the following week as 'by then we should know'. But they are still in the dark.
Wouldn't it have been sensible to iron out such issues BEFORE this announcement was made.
Hopefully, councils will get their act together and all eligible homes will receive their rebate before 2023.
