BRADFORD Cathedral will mark Holy Week and Easter with a programme of services and events.

It will begin on Sunday, 10 April with a 10.30am service featuring a dramatic reading of The Passion.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, at 7.30pm, Professor Ben Quash will offer three reflections, each followed by a night prayer led by the choir.

There will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7pm, and at 10.30am on Good Friday there will be a ‘Messy Easter’ service, celebrating the joy of Easter, featuring crafts, Bible stories, music and food.

There will also be a service on Friday at 12pm, with the Walk of Witness around The Broadway, while there will be a series of services on Easter Day, beginning at 6am, where the Easter fire is lit, and a Eucharist at 10.30am.

The Revd Canon Philip Gray, Acting Canon Precentor, said: "I am looking forward to spending my first Holy Week at Bradford Cathedral with services available in both our beautiful building and online.

“Every year Christ's passion and resurrection is celebrated by Christians with renewed resonance depending on our circumstances.

“This year, conscious of the terrible suffering in Ukraine, we shall prayerfully offer this situation and one another, alongside our hope in Christ.”
