Motorists illegally using a bus lane face being slapped with £30 fixed penalty tickets during an operation continuing today.

Bradford North Neighbourhood Policing Team is patrolling Keighley Road and Manningham Lane during peak times between 7.30am and 9.30am and from 4pm to 6.30pm.

Since the operation started on January 10, 130 drivers have received warnings and 91 received tickets. The crackdown has been funded by bus company First.

Sergeant Dave Bower, of the neighbourhood team, said: "The majority of drivers driving in the proper lane at the appropriate times see these people just jumping the queues and they get frustrated with them. We are just enforcing the law."
