FLAMES and smoke were billowing out from a house off a major Bradford road just before midday.
There was a huge emergency response after an inferno broke out at a residential building on Rooley Lane, heading towards the M606, near its junction with Newhall Way.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to reports of a fire in a two-storey property.
Huge flames and a large cloud of thick smoke were emanating from the house and what looked to be an extension just before 11.30am.
It soon became clear though that it was supposed extension that was caught in the blaze, rather than the entire house.
Four fire crews from Bradford, Cleckheaton, Fairweather Green and Odsal rushed to the scene.
There was also an aerial appliance there.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) was called to the fire at 11.20am and sent one unit.
There were two police cars also in attendance.
T&A reporter Brad Deas was live at the scene.
Firefighters managed to get the flames under control fairly quickly and the main house was left covered in foam.
Crews remained at the scene to deal with the aftermath of the fire and were damping down at 1.04pm.
The part of the building caught in the fire was completely charred, with a small window on the main house next to it burnt through too.
YAS were unable to provide any details on whether any injuries were suffered, due to a private address being involved.
One of the police cars was blocking off two lanes of Rooley Lane at the junction with Newhall Way, where the traffic lights are.
This caused traffic to bottleneck into one lane when the lights went green and caused queues to build back along Rooley Lane.
The T&A has contacted West Yorkshire Police for more details.
