A MAN travelled across the Pennines to stage an angry protest outside the headquarters of Shipley-based Accent Housing.
Armed with a megaphone, Peter Brown travelled from Oldham to bellow out his concerns in a bid to bring attention to the problems.
Among them were complaints about rats and “bodge job repairs”. He accused Accent of “neglecting” residents and said the firm was “absolutely despicable”.
Accent Housing has now vowed to review his case in “great detail” and arranged for a meeting to be held at his home in the next week.
A spokesperson for Accent said: “Following Mr Brown’s visit today, our priority was to get him into our office so we could talk with him about his concerns in a place of warmth and comfort. We have apologised that he felt he had no choice but to visit our office to express his frustrations.
“We called in a member of our senior leadership team to meet with Mr Brown at our office.
“We discussed the issues he is having in detail, and we have agreed for our customer experience director to meet with him, at his home, within the next week.
“Mr Brown was happy with that. We also agreed that, during the visit, we would come up with an action plan to put right the issues he has raised. In the meantime, we will be reviewing his case in great detail.
“We will make sure Mr Brown is happy with our proposals and we will keep in close contact with him throughout the process of resolving them. Mr Brown left reassured of what we discussed today.”
