Two masked raiders used a sledgehammer to smash their way into a petrol station kiosk in Lidget Green, Bradford, today.

They then kicked open a locked door and threatened a male member of staff in his 50s forcing him to empty the till.

The pair took the night's takings from the petrol station in Beckside Road and ran off towards Farnham Road. The staff member was left shaken but was not injured, said a police spokesman.

Both suspects were described as being 5ft 9ins, aged between 25 and 30. They were dressed in black and wore balaclava masks.

One of the men was wearing a black hooded top with USA written on the front.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the robbery, which happened at 4.10am, should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or contact Detective Inspector Gerry O'Shea at Bradford North Police on 0845 6060606.
