A PRIMARY school in Bradford is set to convert to an academy with Pennine Academies Yorkshire.
Clayton Village Primary School will join the multi-academy trust at is will offer further learning opportunities for pupils and professional development opportunities for staff.
In a letter to parents, executive headteacher Becky Cradock said: "During the last year the governors have been considering converting to academy status.
"We informed parents before Christmas we're proposing to convert to academy status as of the Pennine Academies Yorkshire (PAYMAT).
"The governors believe this will allow Clayton Village Primary to contribute to additional challenge, support and collaboration to further develop the learning opportunities and experiences for all children in the Trust."
A spokesman for Pennine Academies Yorkshire, said: "We are excited to welcome Clayton into our family of schools. We look further to the advantages that collaboration brings and we have already enjoyed some of the benefits of working in close partnership with such a great school.
"The school has carefully considered a range of multi-academy trusts and has decided to become a part of the PAYMAT.
"It's an exciting time for PAYMAT and for the school as it joins the PAYMAT family."
Academies are state-funded local schools that operate outside local authority control.
