A COMMUNITY stalwart has spoken of her pride after being recognised for the vital work she does at Bradford's Millan Centre.
Saliha Sadiq, who was last year's Telegraph & Argus Community Stars Award Fundraiser of the Year, was invited to a civic reception in recognition of her voluntary mental health work at the Manningham centre.
She has worked for many years to break barriers and smash stigma.
Saliha said: "This will inspire others especially the younger generation to be active in the community
"It’s nice to see that my work is appreciated not just locally but through the whole of West Yorkshire."
She said it was a nice surprise when she received an invitation to the reception with the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Asghar Khan.
