A MAN has been taken to hospital after a collision on a major Bradford road this morning.

Police were in attendance on Rooley Lane, which had been partially closed, after a van and a motorbike collided shortly after 7am this morning.

The rider of the motorbike, a 35-year-old man, is in hospital with "serious head injuries", police have confirmed.

A closure was in place from Staygate roundabout, near the McDonald's, with traffic left gridlocked along the M606 as a result of the closure.

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area, with the road closure causing "serious traffic disruption" and delays of around 30 minutes.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Shortly after 10am, officers were seen moving cars away from the scene of the crash, and were photographing a motorbike which was laid in the road.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called by the ambulance service at 7.12am this morning to reports that a van and motorbike had been in collision on Rooley Lane, Bradford.
