A BUILDING fire ripped through a business premises in the Great Horton area of Bradford last night.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of the fire at Al Murad, a bathroom tiling business on Southfield Lane, at 7.50pm last night.
Seven fire engines from stations across Bradford and West Yorkshire attended the inclident, including Bradford, Fairweather Green, Shipley, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury and an aerial ladder from Huddersfield.
When fire crews arrived "the building was 100 per cent involved in fire", said Ahsan Ali, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service watch commander who took charge of the incident.
"It was a large building and flames were coming through the roof when we got there," said Mr Ali. "Every floor was on fire.
"The property was under renovation and we had to force entry to get in.
"There was also a care home next door, so we had to make sure they were safe. But they didn't need to be evacuated.
"We don't know the cause of the fire yet, but a police cordon was put in place and they are investigating."
