BRADFORD Council is to be asked what steps are being taken to address problems at a swimming pool.
In a written question ahead of next week's Full Council meeting, Councillor Susan Knox (Lib Dem, Eccleshill) has asked: "Can the Portfolio Holder please explain what steps the Council is taken to ensure that Swim For All sessions are fully restored as soon as possible to ensure that no child is excluded from access to swimming session at Eccleshill Pool.
"Furthermore, what work is being done with West Yorkshire Police to ensure those individuals who are causing problems at the pool are both deterred and where necessary punished for their behaviour?"
It was announced last month that the pool, on Harrogate Road, was temporarily suspending the Swim For All sessions.
A spokesperson said at the time: “Due to repeat incidents at Eccleshill, we have not been able to provide a service which meets our core principles.
"Therefore, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend the Swim For All sessions at Eccleshill Pool."
They added: “The issue of concern relates to a small group who have displayed unacceptable behaviour in the pool area which has caused disruption to those using the facilities.”
