POLICE have issued an updated appeal to find a woman who has been missing since Wednesday, March 2, in which she is wearing a distinctive Leeds Rhinos jersey.
Helen Mills, 39, didn’t return home and was reported missing on March 4, and police have released a new image of Helen from the day she went missing a week ago.
A number of reported sightings have been received by police since her disappearance and it is now believed she was in the Lock Lane and Mill Lane area of Castleford at around 7pm on March 2, near Lock Lane Sports Centre and the River Aire.
Police have also issued a fresh photo of Helen taken from CCTV footage of her shortly after leaving her home.
In the image, Helen can be seen wearing a light blue shirt, the design is a limited edition Leeds Rhinos Captain America jersey from 2017, when the club was one of a number who partnered with Marvel for their Magic Weekend fixtures.
She is described as a white woman, around 5ft 5ins tall, of medium to large build, with shoulder-length brown hair which she usually wears down.
She has a scar on her cheek and a number of tattoos, including a scroll on her wrist.
Detective Inspector Kristy Wright, of Wakefield District CID, said: “We are really thankful to members of the public for their assistance so far.
“We have had a number of other reported sightings which we are also following up.
“I would urge people to please continue to contact us if you believe you have seen Helen or have any information which could help our ongoing enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wakefield District CID, either by calling 101 quoting log number 975 of March 4, using the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website, or by calling independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
