SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because a man reported his oven was broken and it needed to be fixed.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.

In its latest example, the team said: "The #Not999's are rolling in again....#Not999 a male reporting that his oven is broken and he needs it fixing!
"Please don't call 999 because the fire alarm is going off in your apartment building and you can't turn it off. Could not make this up! #notapolicematter"
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
