PLANS to open a micro-pub in an old mill now used as a business park have been approved.

The application will see the drinking venue open in Swinnow Grange Mills in Stanningley Road, Pudsey.

The plans were submitted by Lewis Cuddy, who said he currently uses the unit for storageand wanted to turn it into a micro-pub which also serves food, revamping the unit to create a kitchen, beer storage room, sales area and toilet facilities.

Swinnow Grange Mills, which is also home to companies such as Yorkshire Solid Worktops, L'eclair Patisserie and Sweet Baby Cheezuscakes, has parking space for 60 vehicles and sits at the junction of Stanningley Road and Swinnow Lane.

The pub, which will create two full-time and two part-time jobs, will be open from 11am to 11pm seven days a week except Saturdays when it will open until midnight, and have seating for 25 guests.

In approving the application, Leeds City Council planning officers said it will bring "economic benefits" to the area and "add to the range of community facilities within the area".

However, the micro-pub cannot have outdoor seating, anymore than 25 seats inside, or play music externally.
