People were shown the way to get the most out of a career in the NHS at a seminar in Bradford.

The event, held as a partnership between local NHS organisations and Jobcentre Plus, brought together careers tutors, community organisations and training providers to learn more about the opportunities the NHS has to offer.

"It was a fantastic opportunity not only for the NHS as an employer to make the most of the local talent on offer but also to help spread the word about careers in the NHS, how to access them and the benefits of working in our local health services," said development facilitator at Bradford and Airedale Teaching Primary Care Trust, Sabiya Khan.

"The National Health Service offers a huge range of exciting and challenging opportunities for people who are passionate about making a difference.

"With more than 300 different careers on offer there is a job for everyone, no matter what their interests or skills."

Jobcentre Plus Bradford manager Debbie Ellison said: "We know that the NHS offers many excellent job possibilities, and we are happy to be working with them."

A poster, signposting people towards a career in the NHS, was launched during the event and will be displayed in community centres, libraries and other public places.
