Bradford and District Autistic Support Group (BADASG) held an open day to celebrate their move to a new autism support centre in Bradford.
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Elaine Byrom, and her consort, David Byrom, opened the centre in Caledonia Street and praised all the voluntary sector organisations for their work.
The new centre brings together local organisations, parents and carers and members of the community with an interest in autism. The building has a play gym, complete with slides and a ball pool and a sensory room.
Centre manager David Riley said: "The open day was a great success and it was fantastic to see so many people with an interest in autism and in BADASG.
"We hope that as a result of the open day more people are aware of the support that is available from us and from other services in our area and we aim to continue to expand and develop our service to meet the need that is out there."
BADASG runs social skills groups, a play group for younger children on the autism spectrum, rebound therapy at Chapel Grange School, fun fitness at Richard Dunn Sports Centre, fun swim at Bolling Swimming Baths, summer and Easter schemes and parent support groups.
