A second man has been charged with murdering a former Bradford policeman during an alleged burglary.
The 29-year-old will appear before Pontefract magistrates later today.
Police have also been given extra time to continue questioning a 24-year-old woman arrested in connection with the inquiry.
Yesterday a first man, 24-year-old Michael Sharp, of Queen's Drive, Ossett, appeared before Wakefield Magistrates accused of murdering 38-year-old Mr Ward who was a car dealer.
Police were called to Mr Ward's home in Denby Dale Road, Wakefield, early on Wednesday. Officers said he died from head injuries.
Sharp, who was remanded in custody will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on February 11.
