A BRADFORD gym has been bought out after six years and will undergo a renovation, as well as applying to open 24 hours a day.
Core Gym, just off Greengates Crossroads, announced the news to members and on social media yesterday morning.
The gym, which is situated within a mini complex containing Greggs, Explore Learning Education Centre, Costa and Taco Bell (previously KFC), has been running for six years.
It took over from Priceless Shoes after making an application to turn the building into a gym in December 2013 and then being incorporated as a business with Companies House in August 2014.
Jetts Fitness UK - a chain which originates in Australia - has acquired Core Gym.
The incoming business currently has 10 gyms across the country, with Greengates becoming its eleventh location.
Jetts also has more than 300 gyms worldwide, in Thailand, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia - where it was founded back in 2007.
It is a quick turnaround, with the premises officially becoming Jetts Fitness Greengates this Friday (March 4).
Core Gym Director, Andrew Wilkinson, penned a goodbye letter to members over email and on Instagram, as well as informing people about what is going to happen to the gym.
He said: "I am writing to you to inform you that Core Gym will cease trading and has been acquired by Jetts Fitness starting 4th March 2022.
"After 6 years of operation this decision has not been taken lightly but the time has come for me to pursue other endeavours.
"The good news for you is that over the coming months the gym will undergo a full renovation with a fresh new look and an abundance of new state-of-the-art-equipment."
Jetts itself revealed this includes: new cardio kit, new lifting platforms and strength and conditioning equipment.
The renovation will also include the upstairs section of the facility being completely transformed, with upgrades to the changing facilities to bring it in line with the Jetts brand.
Jetts is also applying for a 24/7 trading licence.
But all current members of staff will remain in place.
An email sent to current Core Gym members from "Wayne and the Jetts Greengates Team" yesterday said: "This is a really exciting time, and after seeing the plans for the gym, we can't wait for you to experience what makes Jetts different!"
Mr Wilkinson said: "On behalf of myself, Wayne and all the team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the loyal and continuous support you have shown us over the years we have been trading.
"I wish you all the best with your fitness goals in the future."
Current members paying by direct debit will have their membership transferred over automatically, at their current price point, unless you direct Core Gym/Jetts Fitness Greengates otherwise.
This must be done before Friday (March 4) though, so you can be removed from the transfer and your membership will be ended.
Those on an annual/six month membership will be transferred over to Jetts Fitness Greengates automatically.
