BUDGET hotel chain Travelodge has revealed the locations near Bradford where it wants to open new hotels.
The company is currently seeking development opportunities that could incorporate a new Travelodge hotel, either on its own or as part of a mixed-use scheme.
It said it will consider new developments and conversions of existing buildings, or taking over hotels operated by other brands, and has earmarked a selection of locations near the Bradford district.
Last year Travelodge opened 17 new hotels and has opened 80 in the past five years, with plans for even more sites.
The places where it wants to open new hotels near Bradford are Brighouse, and M62 Junction 27 for Gildersome.
In recent years developments have been carried out by Lidl, Aviva and Canal & River Trust Investments, while it has also opened hotels in partnership with a number of local authorities.
These include a hotel in London which also included a Co-operative supermarket and a café, and one in Oxford built above a Home Bargains store.
Purpose built sites include one on a retail and leisure park in Rochdale also home to a cinema, gym and restaurants, while the chain also has opened in a number of converted office blocks.
If the target sites earmarked by Travelodge in Brighouse and Gildersome go ahead, they would add to the existing four Travelodges already in operation in the district and surrounding areas.
Travelodge has sites in Valley Road in Bradford city centre, off Dick Lane in Thornbury, off Bradford Road in Keighley, and at Leeds Bradford Airport.
There are also further sites in neighbouring Halifax and Morley.
Anyone who has details of a site or hotel that is available and could be redeveloped as a Travelodge, they are asked to contact the firm’s Development Managers by visiting the company’s website.
