A MAN has been given a community order after he was found with a baseball bat in Brighouse town centre.
Jarvan Peart, 30, appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court to be sentenced for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of cocaine.
Peart, of Green Lane, Greetland, Halifax, had a baseball bat on November 13 last year in Thornton Square, Brighouse.
On the same day, while at Halifax Police Station, he was found with nine snap bags of cocaine.
He was given an eight-week community order; rehabilitation activity days and must pay a surcharge of £95 and costs of £85.
An application was made to recover the £180 through benefit deductions.
The baseball bat and cocaine will be destroyed by West Yorkshire Police.
