TWO people were injured in a three-car crash on a busy road in Bradford this afternoon.
A man suffered serious head injuries and a elderly woman sustained serious chest injuries in the crash on Buck Lane, Baildon, at around 1.30pm.
Emergency services, including the police, three ambulances and an appliance from Shipley Fire Station were scrambled to the scene.
Damage to two cars involved in the crash was severe and it is understood a third vehicle was clipped in the collision.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a road traffic collision at the junction of Buck Lane and Otley Road, Baildon, shortly after 1:35pm this afternoon.
"The collision involved three vehicles and caused nearby roads to be closed as emergency services dealt with the incident."
A spokesperson from Shipley fire station said: "We extricated the woman using a side removal and she had breathing difficulties from her chest injury."
The police spokesperson added: "A woman was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The ambulance service reported the man was also was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "Two patients were conveyed to Bradford Royal Infirmary."
