THE recruitment window for police officers in West Yorkshire is now open.

There are two entry routes; the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships, for people who do not have a degree, and the Degree Holder Entry Programme - for people who do have a degree.

The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship role has a starting salary of £21,654, increasing to a minimum of £27,030 after three years, and the Degree Holder Entry Programme has a starting salary of £24,780, increasing to a minimum of £27,030 after two years.

Successful candidates will ‘earn while they learn’ as they will be paid a salary from day one. All tuition fees will be paid for by West Yorkshire Police.

Recruitment is open to everyone, but West Yorkshire Police is currently under-represented by women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds and so the force said it would particularly like to encourage those people to apply.

Applications close on Sunday, March 6 at 11.55pm.
