A NURSERY School which was due to open in Bradford this month has had its registration suspended by Ofsted.
Little Wisdom's Nursery, which brands itself as having 'Islamic ethos', was given the green light to open on Bull Royd Lane, off Allerton Road, Bradford, last month.
However, concerns then emerged in relation to the new nursery.
Last week, Ofsted told the T&A that they "have been alerted to these concerns and are looking into them. We take safeguarding concerns very seriously and consider all the information we receive.”
This week, Ofsted revealed that it had suspended the nursery’s registration.
Imam Muhammed Asim Hussain had posted on Facebook in January in celebration of his new venture. The post stated: "Last January after the podcast on role of masjids in 21st century, I began the process to set up an Islamic ethos based children’s nursery.'
"A lot of time, effort, money and resources has been invested in setting up the childcare setting and after a year of hard work, yesterday Ofsted granted us official registration to open 'Little Wisdoms Nursery' in Bradford at Al-Hikam. This is amazing news for our local community!”
The T&A has attempted to contact Mr Hussain for a comment on the latest developments.
