PLANS to convert a tiny-house into a beauty parlour and salon have been submitted for approval.

The application, if approved, would see the small bedsit home in Old Lane, Birkenshaw, converted into a beauty business.

The stone-built building is only 43 sq metres and currently used as a bedsit, with just a living area, kitchen, and bathroom.

It is accessed via a small step to the front, with an entrance hallway; there is level access to the side.

If transformed into a beauty parlour, applicant Andrew Walker as said it would have one full-time member of staff.

CLARIFICATION: Ownership of the driveway adjacent to the building belongs solely to 104A Old Lane.

Public consultation on the plans is open until Friday, March 11, for local residents to comment on, support or object the application, before it is considered by Kirklees Council's planning department.
