A PROLIFIC thief has been handed a behaviour order banning him from four shops following a stealing spree last year.
James Murray has been banned from the stores in Bradford and Birkenshaw after being slapped with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CRIMBO) in court last month.
Appearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on January 26, Murray, 33, of Landscombe Avenue, Holme Wood, the CRIMBO was granted following an application by West Yorkshire Police.
Lasting for the next five years, under the terms of order Murray is prohibited from remaining in any shop across the whole of the Bradford district and across the whole of Kirklees when asked to leave by a member of staff.
He is also banned from entering the following shops at any time:
- The Co-operative in Bradford Road, Birkenshaw.
- Farmfoods in Tong Street
- Lloyds Pharmacy at Birkenshaw Health Centre
- Lloyds Pharmacy at Highfield Health Centre, Tong Street.
It follows Murray being jailed for 44 weeks on October 20 for the theft offences committed during August, September and October.
The theft offences were:
- On August 8, at Birkenshaw's Co-op, stole £50 worth of chocolate.
- On August 21, again at the Co-op, stole £65.75 worth of meat.
- On August 28, again at the Co-op, stole another £40 worth of meat.
- A day later, back at the Co-op, even more meat worth £51.50 stolen.
- August 31, another £15 worth of meat from the Co-op.
- On September 1, from Highfield Health Centre, an Aveeno Cream worth £96.
- On September 2, at the same location, stole £90 worth of toiletries.
- On September 3, at Highfield Health Centre, stole £100 worth of medicine, bath gels and baby items.
- Same day. same place, another £150 worth of products stolen.
- At 1.30pm on September 15, stole two Oral-B electric toothbrushes worth £89.99 from Birkenshaw Health Centre
- At 4pm the same day, and from the same place, stole £72 worth of shaving foam, shampoo and deodorant.
- On September 17, same location, stole £98 worth of hygiene products.
- At 4pm on September 20, again from the same location, stole £99.10 worth of shampoo and deodorant
- Same location, this time 1.30pm on September 27, stole £100 worth of cosmetic items.
- Same location again, this time on October 1, stole £189.83 worth of cosmetics.
- October 6, from the Co-op in Birkenshaw stole chocolate.
- October 9, from Farmfoods, stole £60 worth of food.
- October 11, again at Farmfoods, another £60 worth of food.
- October 13, same location, £45 worth of selection boxes.
- Same day, this time at the Co-op, stole £40 of meat.
- October 16, at Farmfoods, stole £30 of chocolate.
- Same day, back at the Co-op, stole another £40 of meat
