Forward-thinking student Beth Cust has won an award for predicting what university life will be like in 2020.

Beth, who is 20 and from Hove Edge in Brighouse, came third in a podcasting competition at Mancheter University to make a video on the futuristic theme.

Her winning podcast canvassed fellow students on their views of the university of the future. Ideas they suggested included cross-course lessons, televised lectures, voice recording pens and robot tutors.

Beth, who is doing her first-year in BA Interactive Arts, won an Apple Macbook for her efforts.

She said: "It was my tutor who told me about the podcast competition and I decided to give it a go. One of the first challenges was how to get the message across in just 60 seconds, so I tried to make my entry as visual as possible.''
