A LEANING concrete fence on a key road in Bradford has become a cause for concern in the local area where it is located.
Positioned on Halifax Road, which runs from Odsal Top roundabout into Shelf, the seven-foot fence can be seen slanted at a striking angle.
The Telegraph & Argus recently discovered that the barrier, located opposite Ark Day Nursery, belongs to Bulmer & Lumb. The grass patch where it perches is often used by children on their way home from school, it is claimed.
Local man Richard Oates said: “Richard Oates said: "There is a section of around 20 metres that is leaning really badly.
"It is set back from the road but I have seen kids running on the grass on their way home from school.
"I also know a gentleman who goes on there with his young daughter litter picking. Elderly dog walkers go along there too.
"If you saw the fence, you would wonder how it stays up. This fence could collapse at any time and could prove fatal if it falls on someone.
"I have worked on construction and been around building sites all of my life, if it falls on someone it will kill them.
"It should be fenced off. Somebody needs to do something about it."
A Bulmer and Lumb statement said: “We have organised for our maintenance team to go up and inspect the fence. They will report back to us and we will make sure that any recommendations are put in place.
“Please pass on our thanks to the person that reported this to you.”
