POLICE issued a number of tickets to drivers following an operation in Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Yesterday, roads policing officers were patrolling the Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon areas, tackling offences that make up the Fatal 4 as part of Operation SPARC.
"A number of tickets were given out for various issues, but perhaps most concerning were eight tickets issued for not wearing a seatbelt.
"It takes less than a second to clip a seatbelt into place and can be the difference between life and death in a crash."
Operation SPARC (Supporting Partnership Action to Reduce Road Casualties) is a project which addresses dangerous driving linked to fatal and high severity collisions. It also addresses anti-social driving.
