FIVE suspects were arrested after police recovered a stolen high-performance car in the Windhill area of Bradford.

A spokesperson from Shipley Neighbourhood Police Team said: "Whilst on Hi-vis patrol in the West Royd area officers noticed a high performance vehicle where the registration plate had been tampered with.

"Checks done on the car showed it had been stolen in a burglary two days earlier from South Yorkshire.

"Enquiries conducted locally which resulted in five suspects arrested, enquiries still ongoing in relation to the burglary offences.

"Vehicle recovered."

Police also located and seized a number of offensive weapons while carrying out enquiries in the West Royd area.

"Whilst conducting enquiries at a property within the West Royd area, officers have located a number of offensive weapons in the property.

"These have been seized from the property for destruction."
