A man, woman and child escaped unhurt when a faulty washing machine sparked a fire in their home early today.
The blaze broke out at a house in Eskine Parade, Woodside, Bradford, at about 12.45am.
Firefighters from Odsal, who attended the scene, said the blaze was caused by a washing machine which had overheated.
Watch manager Richard Hall said: "It was initially difficult to locate the fire. The smoke detectors had gone off, it was very warm and there was condensation running down all the windows.
"It turned out to be a faulty washing machine that had overheated and started a fire."
The fire was contained within the machine.
