LIVE UPDATES: Road closed as armed police swoop on Greengates flats
A ROAD has been closed and "armed police" have evacuated a building in a reported ongoing "standoff".
New Line in Greengates has been shut both ways, where it becomes Carr Road, due to a police incident.
The road has been closed from Albion Road to Ravenscliffe Road since 8am.
It is causing heavy congestion in the roadworks area.
