A BRADFORD man has appeared in court for stealing a rug and scooter from shops in Leeds.

Feyaz Akram, 51, of Harrogate Road, faced two charges of theft from a shop.

In the first charge, he stole a BMX ride-on scooter, worth £129.99, from Home Sense in Leeds on September 8, 2021.

In the second offence, Akram stole a rug, worth £249.99, from Home Sense in Leeds on January 22, 2020.

He was given a community order for the two offences including a curfew requirement with electronic monitoring for eight weeks, up to March 25, 2022, between 7pm and 7am.

He was also ordered to pay £379.98 compensation.

Akram pleaded guilty at a hearing held on December 21, 2021 and was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates' Court on January 28, 2022.
