PLANS to build housing on a Gilstead field have been approved after the developer halved the number of planned properties.
The land to the rear of Laurel Bank, off Sheriff Lane has, been allocated for housing since 2005, when it was meant to be developed as part of the housing estate that is currently to the West of the site.
Last year an application to build six homes on the land was refused by Bradford Council over highways concerns. 85 people had objected to that application.
Applicants Mrs Rowntree and Mrs Marriott submitted a new application shortly after, this time for just three homes.

That application also attracted objections, with 29 people writing to the Council urging them to refuse the plan.
It went before members of the Council's Shipley and Keighley Area Planning Panel on Wednesday.
Councillor Geoff Winnard (Cons, Bingley) spoke on behalf of objectors, saying: "Residents of Lark Vale are concerned about this proposed development. There remains an issue in relation to the access to this site. it is a fairly narrow road with no footpaths. Road safety concerns have not been resolved."
However, after being told that this site had already previously been approved for housing, members approved this application.
