A 47-year-old man pleaded guilty at Bradford Magistrates' Court to charges of producing cannabis today.

The charges relate to the discovery of a cannabis factory at a house in Clayton, Bradford, on Tuesday morning.

Ha Dang, who told the court he had lived in Doncaster but did not know where, was discovered at the address in Selbourne Villas when officers in Bradford and District Drugs Team raided the premises.

The court heard that the house had been converted into a cannabis factory and that Dang had been discovered in the living room.

It was stated that a sheet and duvet cover were on the floor of the room and that a television and DVD player were also found.

It appeared that Dang had been sleeping in the room.

The court also heard that the four-room house had been converted expressly for the purpose of cultivating cannabis plants.

Plants with an estimated street value of £53,000 were seized.

Speaking through an interpreter Dang admitted a charge of producing cannabis.

He was remanded in custody due to immigration issues to appear at Bradford Crown Court for sentencing on February 18.
