LATEST NEWS: ‘We will never forget your smile or your voice’ – Tributes flood in for ‘gem’ of Bradford who died a week ago
A DRIVER involved in a fatal crash on a Bradford road has been released under investigation.
Haji Binyamin, who was 57-years-old and from Thornbury, died after a collision on Leeds Old Road last Friday, just outside a row of shops between Thornbury Grove and Thornbury Avenue.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle at 6.42am by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Haji was rushed to hospital, but died shortly after.
Police said last week that the driver of the vehicle, a man, had stopped at the scene following the crash and was helping officers with their investigation.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police revealed today that the driver was spoken to by police and then later released under investigation.
Enquiries into the crash are continuing and police launched an appeal for witnesses last Friday afternoon.
If you saw the crash, have dashcam footage, or can help in any way, you should call police on 101, or using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
You should quote log number 196 of January 21.
