Small businesses have complained of vandalism and harassment from travellers.
Over the past two weeks, there have been several instances of travellers turning up in large numbers with caravans and parking in the lorry park on the westbound side of the Hartshead Moor service area, on the M62.
Police say that, although this is allowed by management at Welcome Break, there have been several complaints from the truck wash and the pallet business which have reported vandalism and harassment from travellers.
Police would like to hear from any other visitors who have experienced similar problems.
