FOUR Bradford men have been ordered to pay more than £3,000 for failing to comply with separate police requests.
The four males were all found guilty, within the past two weeks, of failing to provide police with the identity of drivers who were alleged to have committed offences.
The heftiest sum was issued to Daniel Urso, 43, of Cliffe Lane West in the Baildon area, with more than £1,000 to pay in total for the offence.
His case heard at York Magistrates' Court last Monday (January 17).
It related to a request made at the Traffic Bureau in York by, or on behalf of, the Chief Officer of Police for North Yorkshire, on Christmas Day back in 2020.
The request was for information from Urso relating to the identification of the driver of a white Renault Master van, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Urso pleaded not guilty on November 23 last year, with the case sent for trial on January 17, where he was proved guilty of the offence.
The 43-year-old also faced a charge of speeding, on the B6265 at Fellbeck near Harrogate, on September 12 in 2020.
He pleaded not guilty to this and it was withdrawn in favour of another offence.
Urso did not attend the trial on January 17.
He was ordered by the court to pay £1,026 in total.
This includes a £660 fine, a £66 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £300.
The balance must be paid by February 14.
Urso has also had six points added to his driving licence.
Mohammed Ramzan, 48, of Newlands Place in the Undercliffe area, had his case heard at Bodmin Magistrates' Court last Thursday (January 20).
It related to a request made at Crownhill in Plymouth by, or on behalf of, the Chief Office of Police for Devon and Cornwall, on May 28, last year.
The request was for information from Ramzan relating to the identification of the driver of a white Nissan Loloader van, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Ramzan was proved guilty by Single Justice Procedure.
The 48-year-old also faced a charge of speeding over 60mph, on the A30 “B” Eastbound Fingle Glen, near Tedburn Saint Mary on March 20, last year.
This offence was withdrawn.
Ramzan did not attend the trial on January 20.
He was ordered by the court to pay £816 in total.
This includes a £660 fine, a £66 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90.
The balance must be paid by February 17.
Ramzan was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and had his driving record endorsed with six points.
Uamar Ali, the youngest of the men in this list at 21, of Fernbank Road in the Undercliffe area, appeared at Blackpool Magistrates' And Civil Courts on Friday, January 14.
It related to a request made in Preston by, or on behalf of the Chief Officer of Police for Lancashire, on October 10 in 2019.
The request was for information from Ali – who was 19 at the time - relating to the identification of the driver of a black Volkswagen Passat Diesel car, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Ali pleaded not guilty to failing to provide police with the identity of a driver who was alleged to have committed an offence on July 5 last year, but was proved guilty by the court on January 14.
He was ordered by the court to pay £598 in total.
This includes a £380 fine, a £38 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £180.
Ali must pay £100 a month from January 28, in order to pay the balance off.
The 21-year-old was also given six points on his driving licence.
Finally, Adam Gorniak, 55, of Sycamore Close in the Wapping area, was proved guilty of failing to provide police with the identity of a driver who was alleged to have committed an offence at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, January 11.
It related to a request made at Nettleham Headquarters (Police HQ) by, or on behalf of the Chief Officer of Police for Lincolnshire, on September 1 last year.
The request was for information from Gorniak relating to the identification of the driver of a BMW, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Gorniak was proved guilty by Single Justice Procedure.
The 55-year-old also faced a charge of speeding over 70mph, at 89mph on the A1, near Foston and Barrowby, on June 2 last year.
This offence was withdrawn.
Gorniak did not attend the trial on January 11.
He was ordered by the court to pay £816 in total.
This includes a £660 fine, a £66 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90.
The balance must be paid by February 8.
The 55-year-old was also given six points on his driving licence.
