THE FATHER and daughter Ukulele playing duo are still going strong after their lockdown stint singing songs for their online audience.
Russ Petcher, 46, who goes by Big D and daughter Daisy, Little D, who’s five, have been posting videos of themselves singing online since the very early stages of lockdown.
The Duo, recently performed at the Cleckheaton Light Switch On and have performed at numerous local gigs.
Big D and Little D have rallied an audience from across the globe and receive song requests from as far as Australia, Malaysia and the USA.
Their Facebook page has grown massively, and the duo have now made it onto a leading Ukulele brand, Flight Ukuleles, radar and will be attending the Great Northern Ukulele Festival in Huddersfield.
Big D said: “It’s going really well and better than we ever imagined.
“We just love doing it and we want people to know that we’re still taking requests and posting online.
“We’ve even done a couple of surprise gigs across Cleckheaton, and we’ve had a really positive response.
“We’re getting gifts from all over the world and a lot of T-shirts which is nice.
“Daisy loves the attention she’s been getting and she loves performing.”
Rusty works for the NHS and offers Ukulele sessions at the local library.
