BRADFORD District MPs have expressed their frustration at the delay to the publication of a review into social services over the murder of Star Hobson.
It said the decision was made as more time is needed to look at evidence which came up during the eight-week trial into Star's murder.
It added they "owe it to Star to make sure that the findings of the review take account of all the facts that emerged during the trial", and a publication date will be announced in due course.
Robbie Moore, MP for Keighley - where Star lived in the months prior to her murder - called the delay "extremely frustrating".
He said: "The death of Star Hobson was a tragedy which touched each and every one of us and it is incomprehensible to think how this was able to happen.
"What is known from the court hearings is that Bradford Council’s Children Services failed to act, despite being contacted several times by multiple people well in advance of Star’s murder.
"Answers are desperately needed to find out exactly why the concerns raised were not explored and investigated properly. In particular, those who knew and loved Star deserve answers.
"We must ensure those who have failed are properly held to account and systems are changed urgently so all children are protected in the future.
"It is therefore deeply frustrating the Bradford Partnership have announced the review will not be published this month, especially given Star was murdered 16 months ago.
"I am concerned that until urgent improvement measures are implemented other children within the Bradford District remain at risk.”
Star's family live in Shipley, and the town's MP Philip Davies added: "This delay is extremely disappointing, not least for the family of Star Hobson who are entitled to a timely review of what went so terribly wrong in Bradford Council to allow this tragic death to take place.
“I very much expect any delay to be short and people need to work at pace to ensure this report is in the public domain as soon as possible.
“I trust we will be given a new date for publication and that there won’t be any further slippage from that timescale."
