LATEST NEWS: 57-year-old man killed in serious Bradford crash
A BRADFORD road remains closed this afternoon following an earlier crash on Leeds Old Road where a man suffered serious injuries.
A police spokesman said: "West Yorkshire Police are currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on Leeds Old Road in Bradford.
"We were called at 6.42 this morning by the ambulance service to reports a vehicle was in collision with a pedestrian.
"A 65-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road is currently closed. Please avoid the area.
A cordon remained in place at midday, and Leeds Old Road remains closed at the junction with Killinghall Road.
Cordons were also in place near the scene of the accident, which took place outside of row of shops between Thornbury Grove and Thornbury Avenue.
Residents in the area have reacted with shock to the incident, telling the T&A that the injured man is a much-liked gentleman who is a valuable part of his local community.

In a separate incident last night, a pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Shipley Airedale Road in Bradford.
