LATEST NEWS: Two female pedestrians seriously injured in crash on major city centre road
A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Shipley Airedale Road in Bradford last night.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 18.32 to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian on Shipley Airedale Road.
"One man taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 1306 of 20 January."
The incident prompted a huge emergency response from the police and ambulance service.
One onlooker said: "There were so many emergency services on the scene - two or three ambulances and at least five police cars. It didn't look good."
The road was closed for several hours, causing traffic disruption in the surrounding area.
