PEOPLE have been warned not to be alarmed if they see smoke in a town centre today.
Rather than being a worrying emergency, there's a very exciting reason.
Filming is underway in Halifax on a new Marvel Studios project for Disney Plus, rumoured to star Samuel L Jackson.
Streets in the town are a hive of activity as crews transform them into film sets.
These include King Cross Road, Bull Close Lane, Old Lane and the Dean Clough complex.
And West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said today: "Don't be alarmed if you see smoke in these areas, today from 11.30-23.30.
"It isn't a fire at all, but a film set! They are using a machine that produces theatrical smoke!"
Halifax, like Bradford, has attracted many film and television crews in recent years.
Filming for the hit BBC show Happy Valley is also underway in the town this week.
Actress Sarah Lancashire, who will reprise her role as Sergeant Catherine Cawood, has been spotted filming in Boothtown.
The six-part series will be the final chapter of the Happy Valley story, created by writer Sally Wainwright.
