A MAN has been spared jail after admitting stealing £66 worth of condoms, chocolate and medicine during a petrol station rampage last month.
Mohammed Nadeem, 38, of Silverdale Road, West Bowling, pleaded guilty to the offences of theft, committed at Rooley Lane filling station on December 8.
Nadeem took condoms, chocolates and packets of medicine with a total value of £66.78 in the incident, where also used threatening, abusive and insulting language and behaviour towards staff and destroyed a Covid-19 protective screen worth £100 while stuffing his pockets full of condoms, confectionary and boxes of pills.
Along with the theft, he pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive language and behaviour with the intent to cause fear of unlawful violence, and also criminal damage, in a hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 4.
After admitting his crimes, he was handed an 18 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, by magistrates and ordered to partake in six months of treatment for drugs dependency and complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
Nadeem was also ordered to pay £100 compensation to the petrol station, costs of 85, and a victim surcharge of £128 for a total amount of £313.
