BRADFORD based Morrisons has been ordered to pay more than £800 for failing to comply with a police request.
The supermarket chain, which is based in Hilmore House, off Gain Lane in Bradford, pleaded guilty to failing to provide police with the identity of a driver who was alleged to have committed an offence last year.
The case was heard at Preston Magistrates' Court last Wednesday (January 12).
It related to a request made in Preston by, or on behalf of, the Chief Officer of Police for Lancashire, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
The request was for information from Morrisons relating to the identification of the driver of a large green DAF lorry, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
A representative for Morrisons did not attend the trial, but the company indicated beforehand it would plead guilty.
Morrisons was ordered by the court to pay £836 in total.
This includes a £660 fine, a £66 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £110.
The balance must be paid by February 10.
The company's guilty plea was taken into account by the court when imposing the sentence.
