A NEW study has revealed Steeton is easiest test centre in West Yorkshire to pass a driving test.
It turns out location is key when it comes to booking a driving test, with average pass rates varying massively depending on where a test is taken.
The research by Collingwood Insurance Services looked at driving test centre pass rates using the latest DVLA data released in December.
It revealed learners at Steeton had the highest pass rate (54.8 per cent) in the area in the second half of 2021.
The Heaton test centre in Bradford was not far behind, with a higher-than-average pass rate of 52 per cent. Thornbury was also above average with a 51.1 per cent pass rate.
In contrast, test-takers in Leeds drew the short straw. It is the hardest place in West Yorkshire to pass, with a low success rate of 40 per cent - 10.5 per cent below the national average.
Six in ten learners who booked driving tests at Leeds failed and trying again comes at a cost of £751.
Horsforth, which is just five miles north-west of Leeds city centre, had a pass rate of 49.9 per cent.
Heckmondwike was also below the national average with 43.8 per cent.
