POLICE are appealing for information after a quad bike rider was seen "stamping on a rabbit" and "throwing it around".

At around 3.30am on Wednesday, the man was seen riding a quad towards the rabbit at Temple Newsam in Leeds, before carrying out the attack.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Wildlife & Rural Crime Unit would now like to speak to him over “causing unnecessary suffering to a wild mammal”.

Police are asking anyone who may be able to help to contact them on 101, quoting crime reference number 13220009798.
